“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and they shall call his name Immanuel” which means God with us.”
This was the prophecy that was made for Jesus Christ . Jesus was born to Virgin Mary and Joseph in the little town of Bethlehem. Many years ago in the Bible it was revealed to the prophets that “Messiah” which means the promised deliverer of the Jewish nation will be coming to deliver them from their sins one day. If we trace back the origin of the celebration of Christmas in the world history , it goes back to the time when many ancient cultures celebrated the changing of the seasons. Many other pagan celebrations took place at the same time of the year. In Roman empire “Saturnalia winter festival was well known and established. Emperor Constantine decreed Christianity as the “new faith” of the Roman Empire, the Saturnalia then became known as “The Mass of Christ”, and was changed to honor the birth of Christ rather than the sun.
